Wakeboarding, SUP and a beach café in the heart of Johkula
Johku Wake is Johkula's summer water sports park at the town beach. Try cable wakeboarding, rent a SUP board or a kayak, or just come to the beach café and watch the action. Open every day from early June to the end of August.
Two cables, every level
The main cable runs around the bay on five masts and takes several riders at once. The beginner cable runs back and forth between two masts, with an instructor standing right next to you on the jetty. First-timers start there; experienced riders go straight to the main cable.
Your first time on a board
On the beginner course most people are riding across the water within the first hour. Board, wetsuit, helmet and vest are included, so all you need is swimwear and a towel.
Summer camps for kids
On our four-day camps, kids aged 7–14 try wakeboarding, SUP and kayaking with our instructors. Camps fill up in spring, so book early.
Birthdays and groups
In the birthday package the kids get the beginner cable to themselves and their own table at the café. For companies, schools and groups of friends we tailor group events on request.
Beach café
Coffee, ice cream, salmon soup and buns right on the beach. No booking needed, just drop in.
Getting here
Rantapuisto 2, Johkula. 400 metres from the railway station, free parking at the beach car park. Open 6 June–23 August: June and August Mon–Fri 12–20, Sat–Sun 10–20; July every day 10–21.
